Aperitivo Hour, in a Bag: The Story Behind Our Three Flavors

The Italians invented aperitivo hour for a reason. That slow, golden moment before the meal starts, when the drinks are cold and something savory is already on the table and nobody is in a hurry to be anywhere. We built a whole brand trying to bottle that feeling, and it lives in three flavors. Here is where each one comes from.

Tapas: the Spanish bar

Tapas is the little dish of warm spiced almonds that arrives with a cold glass at a bar in Spain. We built it around Marcona almonds and smoked paprika, with garlic and cumin and a whisper of chili underneath. It eats rich and savory and just a touch smoky, the kind of bite that makes you pause. This is the flavor for the desk at 3pm, when you want something that tastes like you are somewhere better.

Mezze: the Eastern Mediterranean spread

Mezze is the table full of small savory dishes you graze across for hours. We built it around pistachios and za'atar, with sumac bringing a bright, almost lemony tang and toasted sesame rounding it out. It is herbal and a little wild and nothing like the flat salt of an ordinary mix. This is the flavor for the commute, for the handful you reach for on the drive home.

Aperitivo: the Italian pause

Aperitivo is that golden hour before dinner, the bowl of seasoned nuts set out while everyone slows down. We built it around pine nuts and rosemary, with fennel and sage bringing a gentle, aromatic sweetness that is herbal rather than sugary. It is the most grown-up of the three, savory without being heavy. This is the flavor for the pause between meetings, the small moment you give back to yourself.

Why clusters, and why savory

Every one of these is built on crunchy roasted chickpeas, which is what lets us bake the flavor right into a cluster so it keeps unfolding all the way through the bite.
